Parenting advice for new parents

Dealing with a newborn baby?

Becoming a parent for the first time?

Here are some of the best parenting advice for new parents and also for eldset parents too. This might help you in dealing with your new baby.

Baby Sleeping

Baby sleeping is one of the crucial elements while dealing with newborn babies.

Babies take 14-17 hours of sleep and some babies take 18-19 hours of sleep a day, says the National Sleep Foundation.

Some babies tend to sleep longer than others. If your baby sleeps longer, wake him or her after every 3-4 hours to feed them. Plus if your baby is on formula milk, he or she needs to feed after 3-4 hours while the breastfed baby needs milk every 2-3 hours.

Household noise may seem disturbing for a new mommy but it's okay. Place your baby in a nearby room and the household noise like cooking, chatting, kids annoying, and everyday activities commence. Babies get normal in this condition and get used to these household activities.

Baby feeding

Feeding takes a lot of time.

Be patient and show patience.

When you breastfeed, which is the best option, it takes time and you need to show patience with yourself and others around you.

When your baby turns 4 months, it's now time to give him or her half a banana, cereal, or semi-liquid food. So the baby starts his journey toward solid food. This is crucial because babies become used to solid food if we start early, roundabout after 4 months. It might take time but be patient.

Be humble to yourself

Time flies..... things change... nothing remains last....

In parenting, we parents need to be humble, generous and kind to ourselves.

We need to learn to forgive ourself. In parenting, we make mistakes, we learn a lot but in the same time we make mistakes. This hurts us. It hurt deeply. Stress arises. So forgive yourself.

Be kind and generous with yourself. We are human and we make mistakes so be humble and kind with yourself.

Make memories

Kids grow so quickly so use that time before it flies.

Make memorable or random pictures. Take help from Google for ideas.

Then take the print out of these memorable pictures. Don't save in your mobile or system. Hang them on the wall, fridge, door, or elsewhere you want. This gives joy  and adds a new photo collage to your wall or door.

This also gives joy to kids when they grow up (around 5-8 years old). They love seeing their childhood pictures.

Hang out with friends

Take time to get out of your boundary wall every day for a few minutes even.  Enjoy the bright sunshine , rain, or air. It might be a morning walk or an evening one.

Hang out with your friends or family once every week. This brings bonding to your child with other kids and helps in building relationships with them.

This also helps reduce the stress and share your kids' stories with other parents too. Sharing helps reduce your stress and you come to know other parents too are struggling hard with their lives.

Trust your Intuition

In parenting, we need to trust our intuition. We need to learn that we parent may make mistake, we need to forgive ourselves and move on…

Parents need not be a blind end. They need to understand their kids' needs and their family norms and values. They need to learn their kids' mental health.

Every suggestion and ideas will never be fitted on your kids or family. They might be good ideas but you need to think and choose wisely whether it is good and beneficial to your kid or not.

If it is suitable for your kid then must follow that idea being given by others. Otherwise follow your instinct, your intuition and make wise decisions with your kids.

Do what is good for your kids and follow your intuition.
