Managing stress is an art and managing stress in today’s era is another big art when we have a lot of challenges around plus with pandemics too.
It is important to self control yourself when in a stressful state but how to do it is another topic. The main thing is to control yourself in the peak hour of your stress whether managing it, accepting it or ignoring it.
Root causes of stress
When we have stress, we need to identify the root cause of it.
We need to think, is it much more important to take a big consideration? Is it very important to give our energy to it? etc

Be Realistic
Being realistic helps in coping with your stress. You know the root cause of the problem, you detect it and follow the procedures and precautions. This help in solving the problem.
The person having control over his emotion, anger and is emotionally intelligent is able to cope with the problem ideally and realistically while the rest, just watch or ignore or leave or comment on the issues.
So be realistic, optimistic, look at the world from a big canvas. Things take time to change and be patient to take that time.
Divert your attention
This is again a very helpful technique. By diverting yourself from the very situation of stress, helps you distract your mind and attention. This ultimately helps reduce stress but it does not mean all the worries or tension are gone. The problem are still there, they will always be there, we just have to take ourself out from the very that moment.
Strategies for diverting your mind include, this vary person to person
- Walk or walk away
- Run, exercise or yoga
- Painting, drawing or free drawing
- Swimming

Accept what you can’t change
We live in a challenging world where we have to accept what we don’t want to accept. So it’s more necessary to accept all the challenges , pros and cons, ups and down, plus and minus etc.

While managing stress, It's more important to take out time for yourself. It helps in calming your mind so helps reduce your stress and vice versa.

- Spend time with your love one or close relatives, friends or family
- Choose a hobby or indulge yourself in a hobby
- Keep your sense of humor
- Exercise, yoga or meditation
Time management
Another stress management technique is to manage your time properly and precisely. This helps in growing yourself and your mental level.
Most urgent and most important task must be done first.
If a long project, divide into small potions and complete them.
Learn how and when to say “no”.
Place some time for rest, exercise, yoga , swimming, reading books, or any other hobby you like. This helps in boosting yourself too.
